Qur’an Program – Taught in Urdu

Program Overview:

Please note that this is a continuing term for Tafsir, however, Arabic and Tajweed will start from scratch. We will restart Tafsir from Para 1 after the completion of Qur’an.

A 3-year diploma program for students who wish to learn the translation and commentary of the entire Qur’an. The course is based on authentic hadith, classical sources of scholarly tafsir, and the lives and teachings of the virtuous believers who were the embodiment of the Qur’an. The emphasis is on understanding the depths of Qur’anic wisdom and to highlight spiritual insights and practical advice from the meanings of the Qur’an with the purpose of increasing our heartfelt connection with Allah.

Qur’an Program in Urdu is offered in 3 streams. Students can opt any one of these. Class recordings will be available for those who can’t attend live sessions.

1. Diploma in Qur’an Program – Regular: Teaches tafsir,  translation, quranic grammar, tajweed and other courses. Students will be tested online at the end of each term. Recordings will be available for those who can’t join live sessions.

2. Diploma in Qur’an Program – Minimal: Teaches only translation and tafsir to students. Students will be tested online at the end of each term

3. Qur’an Program for Auditors/Listeners: In this stream, students can only listen to tafsir classes with no exam or attendance policy.

Schedule:

  • Tafsir Class Days: Twice Weekly – Tuesdays & Thursdays. 
  • Time: 8:00 – 9:30 pm Pakistan Time (Tentative)

Note: There will be no Arabic and Tajweed sessions in Fall Term 2017. These will be offered in Spring 2018 inshaAllah.

End of term assessments: Yes, Listeners are exempted

Time Commitment: 3 hours/week Qur’an class.
For Regular Diploma, time commitment per week can increase till 5 hours/week for some terms, owing to Required Tajweed, Qur’anic  Arabic and Short Core Courses.

How are Classes Conducted?

Classes are conducted via an online learning tool called WizIQ. Some of the features of our virtual classroom include:

Learning Management System – LMS:

Our classes also feature an interactive Learning Management System. Some of the features of the LMS include:

 Online Examination process:

We test students using our LMS and Skype where oral testing is required as part of course requirement.

Under LMS, we have MCQ quizzes and assignment submission modes. For assignments, students will attempt exam in an allotted time at their homes, scan the exam and upload it on LMS assignment section. There are two ways you can scan exams: using your smart phone or scanning machine. In mobiles, there are scan apps available that takes scan quality image shots or you can take clear readable picture from your mobile’s camera too. Further details and briefings will be shared at the time of Student Orientation session.

Ans: All courses offered by Zaynab Academy Online are free of charge.

Ans: 3 hours/week Qur’an class. However, time commitment per week can increase till 5.5 hours/week for some terms, owing to Required Foundations Modules and Short Courses. Out of class, students are expected to spend around 2-3 hours a week to review the material.

Ans: Yes. Those students who wish to receive a diploma at the end of 2 years need to give Term Assessments. In addition to the Term Assessments, occasional quizzes might be taken during the terms too, to help students review important material covered during classes.

Ans: Yes, one can enroll as an auditor if he wishes. Auditors (Listener only) will be allowed to attend classes but will not receive any certification from Zaynab Academy Online as they will not be required to take the tests.

Ans: Recordings are available for those students who miss classes for genuine reasons or just to listen to any class again.

Ans: The Qur’an Program has been designed to cater to working women, students and housewives alike, so we do understand that there may be occasions when you may not be able to attend class for genuine reasons. Recordings are available so that students may catch up with the classes they have missed. They will have to provide reason in advance for missing the classes.

Ans: Attendance will be regularly marked for the Qur’an Program. In order to qualify for the next QP term, students need to maintain at least 80% attendance each term (live classes & via recordings).
