Program Overview:
A 3-years diploma program for students who wish to learn the translation and commentary of the entire Qur’an. The course is based on authentic Hadith, classical sources of scholarly Tafsīr, and the lives and teachings of the virtuous believers who were the embodiment of the Qur’an. The emphasis is on understanding the depths of Qur’anic wisdom and to highlight spiritual insights and practical advice from the meanings of the Qur’an with the purpose of increasing our heartfelt connection with Allah ﷻ.

Qur’an Program in Urdu is offered in 2 streams. Students can opt any one of these.

1. Diploma in Qur’an Program ⁠— Regular (Credit Student): Regular stream is suitable for those students who can commit to completing required credit hours or maintaining an 80% attendance in each term. Students will be tested online during and towards the end of each semester. Recordings will be available for those who can’t join live sessions.

2. Qur’an Program ⁠— Auditor/Listener: In this stream, students can only listen to Tafsīr classes with no exam or attendance policy. Diploma/Certificate is not awarded to Auditors.

Monday Class Timings: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Pakistan Time
Tuesday and Wednesday Class Timings: 10:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Pakistan Time
Duration of Class: 1.5 Hours

*Recordings will be available for those who are not able to attend live classes due to genuine reasons.

IMPORTANT!* Qur’an Program is an ongoing course. Admissions open every alternate semester to include more and more students on this sacred journey. 

How are Classes Conducted?
Classes are conducted via an online learning tool called ZOOM. Some of the features of our virtual classroom include:

  • Live Audio Streaming
  • Content Sharing via the White Board
  • Chat Box for Live Interaction with the Instructor
  • Availability of Class Recordings

Learning Management System ⁠— LMS: We use Google classroom (GCR) as our LMS. Some of the features of the LMS include:

  • Discussion Forums for interacting with class mates and Teaching Assistants
  • Announcement Board
  • Assignment Submission
  • Downloading Class Presentations and Slides
  • Online Quizzes and Exams
  • Instant Messages
  • Student Grade Cards

Online Examination Process:
Under GCR, we have MCQ quizzes and assignment submission modes. For assignments, students will attempt exam in an allotted time at their homes, scan the exam and upload it on GCR assignment section. There are two ways you can scan exams: using your smart phone or scanning machine. In mobiles, there are scan apps available that takes scan quality image shots or you can take clear readable picture from your mobile’s camera too. Further details and briefings will be shared at the time of Student Orientation Session.


FAQs
Q: Is there a Fee that I need to pay to enroll in this Program?
Ans: All courses offered by Zaynab Academy Online are free of charge.

Q: How many hours a week am I expected to commit for the Program?
Ans: 5 hours/week Qur’an class. Out of class, students are expected to spend around 2-3 hours a week to review the material.

Q: Will there be other modules that I can take up alongside this Program?
Ans: Yes, Zaynab Academy Online offers electives and modules from time to time that will also be open for Qur’an Program students. However, these modules will completely be optional. Studying them will be beneficial for a student’s additional knowledge but skipping them will not affect the credibility of this diploma in any way.

Q: Will there be an exam?
Ans: Yes. Those students who wish to receive a diploma at the end of the course, need to give Term Assessments. In addition to the Term Assessments, occasional quizzes will be taken during the terms too, to help students review important material covered during classes.

Q: Is it possible to enroll as a auditor (listener) and not give exams?
Ans: Yes, one can enroll as an auditor if she wishes. Auditors will be allowed to attend classes but will not receive any certification from Zaynab Academy Online as they will not be required to take the tests.

Q: What if I cannot make it to class at the stipulated class time? Will I have access to recordings?
Ans: Recordings are available for those students who miss classes for genuine reasons or just to listen to any class again.

Q: What if I have to miss classes during the year because of my University exams or family engagements?
Ans: The Qur’an Program has been designed to cater to working women, students and housewives alike, so we do understand that there may be occasions when you may not be able to attend class for genuine reasons. Recordings are available so that students may catch up with the classes they have missed. They will have to provide reason in advance for missing the classes.

Q: Is there an Attendance Policy?
Ans: All credit Students must have to mark their attendance regularly in Qur’an Program. In order to qualify for the next QP term, students need to maintain at least 80% attendance each term (live classes or via recordings)
